Dungeon Master Codex (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle information when you use dungeonmastercodex.com.

If you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed version of your password. We also store the cards and collections you create as part of providing the cloud sync service. If you use the site without an account, no personal data is collected and your card data remains only on your device.
How We Use Your Data
Your email address is used solely to authenticate your account, send account-related communications (such as email confirmation and password reset), and contact you if you reach out to us. Your card and collection data is stored to provide the cloud sync feature and is not used for any other purpose.
Data Storage
Account data and cloud-synced cards are stored securely on our servers. If you use the site without an account, your data is saved only in your browser and never transmitted to us. Clearing your browser data will permanently delete locally stored information, and we have no ability to recover it.
Data Retention & Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deleting your account will permanently remove your email address and all associated card and collection data from our servers.
Analytics & Cookies
We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (such as page views and general traffic patterns). This does not include personally identifiable information and is used solely to understand how the site is being used. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising or profiling purposes.
Third-Party Services
The site uses the following third-party services:
Google Fonts — fonts are loaded from Google’s servers. Please refer to Google’s privacy policy for information on how they handle font requests.
Open5e API (api.open5e.com) — when you use the SRD Importer, the app fetches publicly available D&D 5e System Reference Document content from Open5e. No personal data is sent to this service; only search queries and content requests are made.
Vercel — the site is hosted on Vercel, which may collect standard server logs (IP addresses, request metadata) as part of hosting. Please refer to Vercel’s privacy policy for details.
Authentication & Storage Provider — we use a third-party cloud infrastructure provider to handle account authentication and data storage. This provider processes your email address and card data on our behalf and is contractually bound to keep it confidential and secure.
Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
